PhD/Early Career Workshop
Date / Time: Monday 23rd October (8.00 - 12.00)
Venue: Strathmore University, Nairobi
Facilitator: Prof. Jean-Pierre van der Rest
We would like to draw your attention to our newest addition to the conference program, the PhD/Early Career Workshop. This workshop is geared to help PhD’s and Early Career researchers navigate the complexities of academic life. So, if you belong to this group: sign up! Or if your supervising or working with someone who would like this, pass on the message!
Topics for the workshop include issues such as work-life balance, how to deal with your supervisor, how to deal with editors and reviewers. Also, you will have the opportunity to discuss some of your personal challenges with regards to these topics in small group with senior professors. Also, if you so desire, you can discuss a paper you are working on in private with one of the professors teaching the workshop.
We have attracted three senior professors who will be hosting this workshop: Professor Maureen Brookes, Professor Rob Blomme and Professor Jean-Pierre van der Rest. They are looking forward to meeting with you!
This session is programmed on Monday 23 October in the morning. You can sign up by emailing Prof Xander Lub from the Nairobi Conference Academic Board (lub.x@nhtv.nl) with your name, contact details and a brief description of your research interests before 1 October.
Also, later in the conference, you will also have the opportunity to participate in research workshops. We will be hosting a quantitative workshop that offers three presenters on advanced quantitative analysis techniques:
- 1. Conjoint modelling by Prof van der Rest
- 2. PLS-SEM by Prof Blomme
- 3. Logistic Regression by Prof Sharma
